ABC Wednesday - L

I can't believe that a whole week has passed and that it's time for an L post for ABC Wednesday.
L is for Lavender.

There is a Lavender farm on Cape Cod in Dennis, Massachusetts. Although we've passed the blooming season there were still a few hanger-oner's. It was a grey and misty day, the lavender plants were a silvery green. The lavender blossoms were quite lovely.

Lavender in the mist. What else could you ask for. I can almost smell it.
Funny how those Wednesdays come so quickly.

So beautiful. I love this flower. This summer I planted one in my garden. I hope it will blossom next summer.

Lavendar is such a magic plant, because the oil is good to protect one against insects, the soap is wonderful and it's no wonder that it is mentioned in poetry. Still it's a modest plant and you have to look for its beauty if you have only one single flower. The more flowers the more impressive!
Thanks for visiting.

I love that picture! I love lavender, and I love how you've focused on the blooms in the front and let the background blur out.

My lavender is almost finished for this year, too, but there are still those hangers on that lend a beauty to the end of the garden's glory.
